細胞凋亡最容易觀察的特徵之一就是由細胞核酸酶 (nucleases) 所造成的基因體 DNA 斷裂。TUNEL (terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling) 是一項廣泛應用於偵測 DNA 片段化 (DNA fragmentation) 的經典技術，其偵測原理是標定細胞凋亡過程中雙股 DNA 斷裂所產生的 3'-OH 羥基末端 (3′-hydroxyl termini)。

Abbkine 一步法 TUNEL 細胞凋亡檢測試劑盒 (KTA2011) 利用「末端去氧核苷酸轉移酶 (terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase, TdT)」將帶有橘紅色螢光標記的 dUTP 附加至 DNA 的斷裂缺口 (nicks) 上。由於 TdT 酵素能精準識別這些缺口並進行末端標定，透過偵測螢光訊號 (Ex/Em = 555/565 nm) 即可定量凋亡細胞。

本試劑盒提供所有 TUNEL 分析實驗所需試劑，並具備極佳的靈敏度與便利性；可相容於流式細胞儀 (flow cytometer)、螢光顯微鏡和螢光微量盤分析儀，並廣泛適用於各類細胞和組織樣本。
